Entry Fees (GST inclusive):      

All Rams    $100 per Ram (Canterbury A&P Association Members)

                   $120 per Ram (Non-Members)    

                   All Ewes      $40.00 per ewe pen 

                   Admin Fee    $15 per vendor

 

Brucellosis Certificates must accompany entries, either upload or email to [email protected] . Entry Fees must be paid at time of entry - they will NOT be debited through the Selling Firm. Canterbury A&P Association membership applications are available at www.theshow.co.nz 03 3433 033. E-Catalogues will be available online and hard copies available on the day and by request.

UPSET PRICE                          Ram $700 and Ewe $200 or Vendor Reserve. $2000 transfer. 

PENNING TIMES                      All sheep are to be in pens ready for inspection:

•    Sale lots at 9.00am on the day of sale.  No scanning.

Each breed will be assigned an unloading ramp. ASD forms must be handed in to the Sheep Office before Lot Number tags can be picked up.

Any other entered breeds (outside of the above sale order) will sell at the start of sale. If their transfer price is below $2000 they will sell at the end of the afternoon sale.

SELLING RUN    Vendors offering three or more sheep will have their entries divided into two runs, with the greater half (if the numbers are uneven) entered in the first run. 

ENTRY FORMS    NB IT IS IMPORTANT TO STATE BREED 

Entry forms online in the Ram Fair competition page at www.theshow.co.nz. No paper forms will be available. 

EWES    Any persons wishing to offer Stud Ewes may do so, with up to two ewes per pen and each pen being offered as one lot. The fees are indicated above.  Upset price for EWES is $200.

PERFORMANCE DETAIL    Every attempt will be made to present performance detail accurately and the latest SIL-ACE evaluation will be used.  Performance Cards may be placed on pens.

SELLING FIRMS    PGG Wrightson Ltd, Hazlett Ltd, and Rural Livestock Ltd.  Bidr will be used.

All lots will be sold subject to the Conditions of Sale of the New Zealand Stock & Station Agents Associations, and subject to the Conditions as listed below.

1    Entries must be made on the official online entry form at www.theshow.co.nz and must be signed by the Vendor or his Agent with such signature confirming that all conditions are accepted by the Vendor.

2    Any loss or injury to any animal whilst at the Canterbury Agricultural Park shall be the sole responsibility of the Vendor, and if sold, the Purchaser.

3    All Lots must be registered in the appropriate Flock Book, or be eligible for registration.

4    Vendors must complete Entry Forms accurately and in full, including the names and tag numbers applicable to the Lot’s 3 generation pedigree. If the Vendor is not the Breeder, the name and flock number of the Breeder must be stated.

5    The latest NZGE analysis run will be used for populating the Canterbury Ram Fair Cataloguethis year.  In this way, rams can be selected on the same information that will be published in the sale catalogue. SIL welcomes your feedback on this which should be forwarded to [email protected].

6    Entry Fees shall be those as stated on the accompanying sheet.

7    PENNING –     All sheep are to be in pens ready for inspection by 9am on the day of the sale. No scanning.

REPLACEMENTS are allowable only up to the cut off date of Friday 19th November. No replacements accepted after this date. Please inform your selling company, prior to the day of sale of any changes. It is the vendor’s responsibility to display this information on the pen.

8    All Lots entered by Vendors who presented Lots at the previous Canterbury A&P Association Ram & Ewe Sale will be offered for sale before Lots from Vendors who did not present Lots at the previous sale.

9    The selling order of Lots presented shall be determined by the calculated average prices received by each Vendor in each Breed at the previous sale, with the Vendor obtaining the highest average selling first and thence in descending average order. The selling order of Lots from Vendors who were not represented at the previous sale shall be decided by random selection.

10    Vendors must nominate the order in which their Lots are to be sold, and the order in which the Lots appear on the Entry Form will be assumed to be the nominated order.

11    Vendors offering 3 or more sheep will have their entry divided into two runs, with the greater half (if the numbers are uneven) entered in the first run.

12    All Lots will be offered for sale in the order set out in the catalogue.

13    The upset price per Ram shall be $700, Ewes $200 or the Vendors reserve.  Transfer $2000. The minimum price for any Lot sold outside the sale ring shall be Ram $1,000, Ewe $300.

14     Overseas Export: Prior to auction - Purchasers who wish to export the animal/s (“Export Purchasers”) must advise the auctioneers at least 2 hours prior to the sale commencing that they are considering purchasing specific breeds at the auction. The Auctioneers will then advise all vendors of relevant breeds that their animals are being considered for export. Vendors not wishing to have their animals considered for export are to advise the Auctioneers.

15    Overseas Export: Purchase at auction by Export Purchasers is conditional upon the animal/s purchased passing all relevant export protocol and testing (conducted at the Export Purchaser’s expense). Full payment (plus GST) will be made at the fall of the hammer to the Auctioneers as per usual terms and conditions. Payment will be held by the Auctioneers until the animal/s leave New Zealand. Payment will be refunded to the Export Purchasers less all associated export costs for any animal/s purchased failing export protocol and testing.

16    Auctioneers must announce the names of the purchaser of each Lot at the fall of the hammer.

17    At the fall of the hammer, all Lots sold will become the responsibility of the Purchaser. In the event of a Lot being passed, the responsibility for the Lot shall remain with the Vendor.

18    All Lots entered must be from a flock accredited brucellosis free as at the time of sale, with copies of brucellosis certificates required to accompany entry forms.  All Texel entries must be accompanied by an i-SCANCLRcertificate. 19    Rams or Ewes not included in the Sale Catalogue may not be offered for sale at the Canterbury Agricultural Park on the day of the Canterbury A&P Association Ram & Ewe Sale under any circumstances.

20    Purchasers must complete and hand their Buyer’s Instruction Slip to the Auctioneer’s Clerk before leaving the sale.  No verbal instruction will be accepted.  

21    All Lots must be removed from the Canterbury Agricultural Park before 9.30pm on the night of the sale.
