Clash of the Colleges

Key to the ethos of the New Zealand Agricultural Show is promoting the tradition and heritage of all things agricultural.

Clash of the Colleges is a new event for the 2022 Show involving teams of four students from the Agri classes of fifteen high schools from the wider Canterbury area. The event will include 25 modules including animal anatomy, condition scoring of sheep, wool classing, water systems, identifying seeds, weeds, fertilisers & hazards, applying drench, tying knots, safety, general knowledge, setting up dairy equipment, aspects of fencing, putting together a shearing handpiece to name a few along with some fun competitive rural sports activities.

This new event will take place on Wednesday 9th November 2022 as part of the New Zealand Agricultural Show at the Christchurch Showgrounds. We anticipate as many as 30 teams will take part with the winning team representing the region in the finals at the Ford Ranger NZ Rural Games on Friday 10th March 2023 in Palmerston North.
